iPhone 15 lineup will feature 35W fast charging for the first time

One of the main innovations of the iPhone 15 will be the replacement of the Lightning connector with USB-C. Earlier there were rumors that thanks to this, smartphones will receive faster charging, but now the details have appeared: the iPhone 15 will receive 35W charging. About this informspublication 9to5Mac with reference to insiders in the industry.

The source says that "at least some" smartphones in the line will receive 35 watts. Now the fastest charging among Apple smartphones in the iPhone 14 Pro is 27 watts. It takes about 2 hours to fully charge the iPhone 14 Pro Max. The base iPhone 14 and 14 Plus are limited to 20 watts. By comparison, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra supports 45W charging and charges fully in less than an hour.

Last year, Apple released an official 35W dual USB-C charger. If the rumors turn out to be true, this adapter will be ideal for charging the iPhone 15 at maximum power - provided that the second port is not used.

It remains to be seen if 35W charging will only be available on Pro models, or if Apple will take pity and give fast charging even to base models. But given the previous  rumors , it's hard to believe.
